Allegro Updated and Brewed New Branding for Home Brewers

Coffee is like my maintenance. I can’t live without it. How about you? Do you love coffee too?

I cannot afford buying coffee outside and I will definitely not risk my life just to go out to get myself an ice cold brewed coffee… I think. Haha

So, what’s a better way to fulfill your coffee craving than to make it on your own, at home. Yaaaasss!! Brew at home!

Amidst this crazy situation we’re in, an awesome brand decided to re-launch their Social Media sites, Facebook, and Instagram. You wanna know which brand it is? It’s Allegro.

Allegro Beverage Corporation (ABC) is the exclusive distributor of the finest espresso machines, brewers, coffee beans, syrups, sauces, and teas from around the world. Our customers are hotels, casinos, chain accounts, restaurants, cafes, and offices.

They are the one of the trusted companies you can buy your coffee essentials from.

Allegro is known for touching base with the B2B market for the past 20 years, and as time progressed, they decided to expand their reach and capture the B2C market (the home brewers) as well to cover a larger market share.

Allegro’s top three goals are:

  • to reach the consumers and introduce their products and equipment to household home brewers
  • For everyone to enjoy high graded coffee beans at reasonable prices
  • Brand awareness

As they aim to have their brand be recognized with boundless limits, they made Allegro available and make it connected to reach the multitude of people across various social media platforms; to make us feel Allegro’s presence, and the need to avail of the products would be as easy as tapping a button on our Facebook or Instagram account.

And because I got so interested with theor brand, I joined their webinar held last week, September 2, 2020. It was a fun and informative session, and I loved it!

They tackled about important reminders related to marketing, what should and should not be done.

These notes impacted my mindset deeply as an online seller myself and a social media marketing manager. I’m glad I joined the webinar because most of my questions regarding digital marketing were answered by people with great minds.

I hope next time I get to join another webinar hosted by them. While waiting for a new searies of their webinar, I’ll be at home brewing and drinking coffee.

Stay safe at home and stay caffeinated!

The Perfect Plant Protein, what is it? Why should we consider consuming it?

The Perfect Plant Protein: Soy

By Dr. David Heber, M.D., PhD, FACP, FASN,Chairman of the Herbalife Nutrition Institute

We all know that one of the best ways to live a healthy life is maintaining a healthy diet and exercising regularly, another is consulting the experts.

We have learned a lot about this healthy lifestyle from the Chairman of the Herbalife Nutrition Institute, Dr. David Heber, M.D., PhD, FACP, FASN. Dr. Heber is a medical doctor who is also an advocate of balanced diet that includes healthy plant-based foods.

Obesity is linked to many potentially lethal health conditions including, heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. As the founding director of UCLA’s Center for Human Nutrition, Dr. Heber spent decades researching the impact of plant-based proteins – such as soy – on his patients vs. a meat-based protein diet.

Substituting soy protein and other plant proteins for high-fat animal meats can result in better weight control and lower cholesterol and blood pressure levels, although changing one’s diet is not a substitute for seeking medical advice or treatment for these conditions. Reducing extra calories, saturated fat, and cholesterol from meats and substituting soy protein in shakes and foods can help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight, which will also support healthy immune function.

How to choose the source of protein that’s best for you?

With consumers seeking more plant-based proteins and many choices, including rice, beans, quinoa, pea, soy, and others, it can be tough for consumers to know which plant-based proteins are best for them. The truth is, not all plant-based proteins are created equal. Unlike the other plant-based proteins, soy is the only one considered a complete protein. Soy contains all 21 amino acids, including the nine essential amino acids that the body cannot make. The essential amino acids can come from the foods we eat.

Soybeans are also a good source of fiber, minerals, and complex carbs. Soy protein contains phytonutrients called soy isoflavones, which act as antioxidants, and they feed healthy gut bacteria, making them “prebiotics.” Soy may also benefit the heart.  Some studies have shown that 25 grams of soy protein a day, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease, although the total scientific evidence is not conclusive.

With so many health benefits, why does soy sometimes receive a bad rap?

Several years ago, there were reports that soy had a link to breast cancer. However, scientific research has debunked this premise, and there is no evidence linking soy consumption to breast cancer. Based on several studies, the American Cancer Society concludes there is no harm from eating soy protein or soy foods, and there is mounting evidence that nutrients in soy foods may lower the risk of breast cancer. Research has also negated the myth that soy consumption could cause enlarged breasts in men. In fact, the study showed that soy had no significant effects on men, including any impact on total testosterone levels, another myth about soy.

Now that you understand the joy of soy, there are many ways to add soy to your diet. Foods rich in soy include edamame (whole soybeans), tofu, tempeh, and a convenient, on the go option, a soy protein meal replacement shake. Soy is indeed the perfect protein and an essential addition to a healthy diet. As the medical community continues to study how people can best protect themselves against any viral infections now or in the future, in addition to frequent hand-washing, face masks, and social distancing, a balanced diet, and lifestyle that includes healthy proteins like soy and regular exercise can help our bodies stay fit and strong.

Tips on How to Start a Home Business

Since the pandemic happened, a lot of people have lost their jobs and now struggling to find a way to get through each day without a stable income, and I am one of them. Days after loosing my clients, I’ve decided to learn new skills using what I already have at our house, which was the stove and oven toaster. I’m now teaching myself how to bake and sell it online.

Food business is now booming and many people have entered the same field, may it be online of offline.

As I have observed, many Filipinos have already started putting up their own little ventures by offering something that we all love—food. Ube pandesal and Baked sushi are two trending in the online food business since the month of June 2020 started. One of the trending snacks I’ve tried was the Palitaw with a Twist by Palitaw Queen.

Full of creative minds and determined souls have shown their resiliency and inventiveness through these food ventures.

If you are interested to start a home business of your own, here are some helpful tips from homemaker, Cherish Ong-Chua, Vice President, Finance and Marketing, at Hanabishi.

  1. Think about a product that you want to offer.
Are you or someone in your family good in baking or cooking? Capitalize on your skill and passion in determining the product you want to offer.
  2. Know your target market.
Ask yourself if the product you’d like to put out there has a market. Food, for one, can have an immediate market—your family, colleagues, and friends.
  3. Quality over quantity.
Make your product worth your customers’ money. Of course it goes without saying that you have to ensure that the items you sell should satisfy your customers. Offer products that they will like so that they can tell their other friends and relatives about it. This way, more people will be interested in your products.
  4. Invest in good equipment.
If you’re going to pursue a business in food, make sure that you have quality equipment. At Hanabishi, They have a range of products that can help you with your cooking and baking needs, such as broilers, grillers, fryers, and electric cookers. For those who are into baking, they have mixers, food processors, ovens, and more.
  5. Make purchasing convenient.
Make it more convenient for customers to purchase your products. For example, most businesses have gone online these days and customers can easily buy the product of their choice and have it delivered safely and securely to their home.

Make the customers easily place an order with just a few clicks and taps on their computers and mobile devices. Offer the option to have your products delivered or picked up from your house.
  6. Create a social media account.
Most Filipinos are social media users and being on FB and IG makes you more visible to them. In fact, according to a recent Nielsen Homepanel Tack-on survey, 49 percent of Filipinos who shop groceries online prefer Facebook.

In making your goods available through these social media apps, make sure that you take good photos. Food, most especially, need to look delicious and enticing to attract customers.
  7. Think and plan ahead.
Expect challenges to come your way and make sure you keep up with consumers’ changing behavior. It’s not easy, but with hard work and foresight, success will come your way.

Discovered a Gram-worthy Healthy Milk Tea Shop

Milk tea is so in trend right now. I don’t drink milk tea that much because I know it’s not as healthy as drinking coffee, but whenever I see a new stand or a shop that serves milk tea I get curios, especially if it is a place that also serves healthy drinks. Kind of like this new place I found out about. Although they serve milk tea too, theirs is a lot different.

Good Good PH is a milk tea brand that originated from Taiwan and in 2019, they started offering milk teas that are made with fresh cow’s milk here in the Philippines.

Besides milk tea, they are also serving fruit teas, hot teas, bubble milk tea, assorted teas with cream cheese, smoothies, and even juices.

Nowadays, when building a shop, you must take a lot of time in making it Instagram-worthy. Good Good PH really did a good job in their interior design.

I’m always fond of an interior that’s filled with mixed wood and metal materials. It’s simple and elegant-looking and it somehow gives a calm feeling.

Not only the materials chosen are lovely but the way they incorporated and positioned it together looks pleasing.

They even made a creative accent wall that is perfect for selfies, groufies and product shoots backgrounds.

This corner (image on the right) right here is the best place to pose with or without their product(s). It’s so cute.

You have a simple pink-ish background with their metal carved hashtag and an artistic white and black wall contrasting on the other side.

Oh! and look at that floating wood bar table and those cute wood and metal cocktail chairs.

Alright, I think I’ve said enough about the look of the shop but what about the things they serve, right?

Obviously I tried their drinks. I did a taste test of the drinks that were featured on my vlog (embedded below).

But I must say that Red Zen Tea is one of my favorites. It is a mix of dragonfruit and lychee.

It tastes unique and delicious, in my opinion. I know the fruit mix seems weird but it actually is a good mixture.

Dragon fruit is high in nutrients and fiber, but it is low in calories but packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It also contains a substantial amount of dietary fiber.

A Lychee on the other hand is is a rich source of nutrient that is required for the production of blood. It also contains good amount of antioxidant Vitamin C, Vitamin B-complex and more.

Is that enough info to make you grab your phone and order their healthy drinks? Nope? Okay well you might want to read another article that I wrote (click here) to know more about the drinks that they can offer. Maybe that blog can convince you to order. But here’s a copy of their menu.

updated as of April 4, 2020

I know it’s hard to go out since COVID-19 but don’t worry, you can order now via GrabAssistant, Foodpanda, Lalamove and LalaFood. Good Good PH Sct. Tobias branch is open from 11AM to 7PM, while their Banawe branch is from 11AM to 6PM.

A Cure for Women’s Abdominal Discomfort | Wellness Refill

Being a woman is not easy, especially when “that time of the day” comes, do you know what I mean?

Yes, the monthly period.

Many women experience abdominal discomfort we call dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is a menstrual cramp that is caused by uterine contractions. It has two types, Primary which is the most common menstrual cramp that lasts up to 3 days, and the Secondary which is caused by a disorder in the woman’s reproductive organs that usually begins earlier in the menstrual cycle and lasts longer than common menstrual cramps.

Dysmenorrhea has been one of my struggles too every month and I experience it for 2 days in a month. 2 days in severe pain is no joke. All I do is lay down on my bed and do a warm compress on my lower abdominal area and sometimes on my lower back. It helps a lot but the pain comes back quickly.

I don’t drink medicine unless the pain is so severe that I cannot tolerate it anymore. I’ve experienced going to the hospital because of this abdominal pain and that’s a hassle and expensive. I don’t want that to happen anymore so I googled and asked around, then I came across a remedy. But before trying it I researched, read and asked about the product. I haven’t read or heard any negative thoughts about it. I was skeptic, as always, so I gave it a try.

I found Mint Relief on facebook and got very curious about it and told myself I have to try it. Well, what can I say other than it worked really well. It relieved my pain in less than 30 minutes. It gave me good comfort too. Dysmenorrhea went bye-bye in a snap.

I also used it when my hyper-acidity attacked, and it worked pretty good. The review I read about it was true, “★★★★★ … it’s AMAZING! It eases my tummy ache in just couple of minutes!” – Ampy, Wellness Refill customer.

Mint Relief‘s main ingredients are spearmint and peppermint. It’s a soft gel capsule that tastes a bit bland but that’s fine, some medicines and vitamins taste awful, am I right?

I suggest you try it too, but of course, don’t forget to consult your doctor first.

Mint Relief is claimed to be an all-natural solution for indigestion, gas, and hyper-acidity. It ingredients, peppermint and spearmint are known to provide quick relief from stomach issues like stomach aches, flatulence, and indigestion.

Mint Relief is sold for Php 150 excluding the shipping fee. Each pack contains 10 round soft gel capsules.
