My heart broke into pieces a year ago. I was at a crossroads, trying to build my Digital Marketing company while also pursuing my dream of owning a café. I worked tirelessly, juggling a full-time job on the graveyard shift and dedicating my daytime hours to establishing my business ventures. However, despite pouring my heart and soul into building the dream café with a partner, it didn’t work out, leaving me devastated. Determined to move forward, I decided to focus on my full-time job and continue building my company. But life had more challenges in store for me, as I faced financial setbacks, got scammed, and found myself in a state of emotional turmoil within a span of just eight months.
Recognizing the need for change and healing, I embarked on a journey to prioritize my mental health and reclaim control over my life. One of the first steps I took was to cleanse my social media environment, starting with unfollowing people on Facebook. Little did I know that this seemingly small act would be the catalyst for a much deeper transformation.

The Power of Unplugging: Unfollowing people on Facebook may appear insignificant, but it marked the beginning of a larger process of unplugging from negativity and reclaiming my mental space. Social media can often be a breeding ground for comparison, envy, and self-doubt. By intentionally curating my digital world and removing toxic influences, I created a more positive and nurturing online environment that aligned with my mental health goals.
Seeking Support: Working on my mental health required acknowledging that I couldn’t do it alone. I reached out to my family for support. Through open and honest conversations, I discovered the power of vulnerability and realized that seeking help is not a sign of weakness but a testament to my strength and determination to heal.

Embracing Self-Care: To rebuild my shattered sense of self, I embraced the concept of self-care. I prioritized activities that brought me joy and nurtured my well-being. Whether it was taking long walks in nature, practicing mindfulness and meditation, or indulging in creative outlets like painting and writing, I learned to set aside dedicated time for myself and my mental health.
Cultivating Gratitude: Amidst the chaos and setbacks, I discovered the power of gratitude. Each day, I made a conscious effort to identify and appreciate the positive aspects of my life. Cultivating gratitude shifted my perspective, allowing me to find silver linings even in the darkest moments. It became a potent tool for reframing my mindset and fostering resilience.
Working on my mental health has been a transformative journey that has taught me invaluable lessons. Unfollowing people on Facebook was just the first step towards building a healthier and more fulfilling life. By prioritizing self-care, seeking support, exploring interest, and cultivating gratitude, I’ve made significant progress in my healing process. While the road to mental well-being is an ongoing one, I’m grateful for the strength and resilience I’ve discovered along the way.

Remember, it’s never too late to start working on your mental health. Embrace the journey, be kind to yourself, and remember that healing is possible.
